Making Mom’s Life Easier
Moms, you know how tough it can be to get your kids (and your husbands!) to eat right. Here at Newcastle Produce, we want to help.
LOCAL & FRESH IS BEST
Fresh, locally grown produce tastes far better than produce that was grown hundreds or thousands of miles away. And locally grown, fresh food tastes much better than frozen or canned. So if you are trying to get your kids (or your husband) to enjoy beets, for instance, why not make their first taste the best it can be? Try our delicious beets, grown on Twin Brooks Farm in Loomis. You can taste the difference.
Other fresh and locally grown produce in now includes kohlrabi, which you can peel, chop, and serve with a dip (such as our Artichoke Dip). We’ve seen kids gobble it up!
We also have a great selection of local salad greens, including red leaf, green leaf, and our own spicy salad mix (with mizuna and arugula). These colorful lettuces will make any salad more fun to eat (and healthier, too!)
KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
Another way to get kids to eat well is to let them help choose and prepare the food. Stop by the store, let them help you pick out the produce, and then cook it together!
CELEBRATE MOM
We can help you choose the perfect gift to celebrate Mom. We have a great selection of cookbooks for Moms who like to cook. Add it to a gift basket with gourmet olive oil and vinegar, and pick up a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers (We have them every day.) It’s gift that is sure to please.
GIVE MOM A NIGHT OFF
For Moms who need a break from the kitchen, why not try a Newcastle Produce gift certificate? Mom can call ahead, order a gourmet dinner from our deli (with offerings such as Spinach Quiche, Lasagna, Wild Rice, Asparagus, and Pecan Salad, Newcastle Potato Bake, Grilled Chicken Thighs, and more), and she can take the night off.
GIVE A CLASSY GIFT
Maybe Mom would enjoy one of our cooking classes, offered in the evenings (see the classes page for information). These make great gifts. Or better yet, send Dad to class so he can cook for Mom a few nights a week!
Stop in today and let us help you celebrate motherhood!
